Weding Dress 2015: Yates Mill County Park

Robin contacted me on October 14th desperately looking for an officiant for his and Lisa's small intimate wedding coming up in 13 days on October 27, 2012 at <a href="http://www.wakegov.com/parks/yatesmill/Pages/default.aspx" target="_blank">Yates Mill County Park</a>.  They had spoken with my friend and fellow officiant, Rev. Robin Renteria, who referred them to me. I happened to be available that afternoon because the wedding I had in that time slot had been cancelled, so it must have meant to be that our paths would cross. We got the contract signed and I sent them a "proposed" ceremony to go over and make the changes they wanted. We added in their parents' names and a few other details to make the ceremony as personalized as possible on such short notice. She is wearing the same wedding dress that Robin's mother, Betsy wore at her wedding in 1971. It was altered to fit by Lisa's mother, Ricci. Betsy told me that it originally had the puffed Juliet sleeves but Ricci removed the puffy fabric and moved the pretty lace cuff up to shorten the sleeve. There were about 6 rocking chairs for those that chose to sit down during the ceremony. Not only did she alter the wedding dress, she made the wedding cake! They chose <a href="http://www.wakegov.com/parks/yatesmill/default.htm">Yates Mill County Park</a> on Lake Wheeler Road for the setting. It is a fairly new park and is very nice. The patio in the back overlooks a nice wooded area in front of the lake.  Kathryn called me the end of August about officiating for them and we made all the arrangements via email and USPS.
