Scott and Erin's Incredible Wedding at The Sutherland!

This wedding was definitely a family affair and I felt as if I was a family member! Erin is the third daughter in her family that I have officiated the wedding of. First was <a href="http://raleighweddingblog.blogspot.com/search?q=Megan+and+Ben" target="_blank">Megan who married Ben</a> on October 30, 2010 at The Cotton Room. Then on September 14, 2012, I officiate the<a href="http://raleighweddingblog.blogspot.com/search?q=Kate+and+Phil" target="_blank"> wedding of Kate and Phil </a>at The Pavilions at Angus Barn. I was delighted when Erin and Scott contacted me to officiate their wedding ceremony set for June 6, 2014 at <a href="http://thesutherland.com/" target="_blank">The Sutherland</a>!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRmeiyawu-CAeVdvlLBKUeGjvGAON2spkhs-PQ_zFaTJeYal-VKYyIS_79j1NEy8hLUbSCkL3laMG-ubRGQMJtN5NxSHBeJyCvtVZx_0C9zRT0QnI4AXbGOl5EhtC9MAYCNiWYJsPM1cE/s1600/DSCN9023.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRmeiyawu-CAeVdvlLBKUeGjvGAON2spkhs-PQ_zFaTJeYal-VKYyIS_79j1NEy8hLUbSCkL3laMG-ubRGQMJtN5NxSHBeJyCvtVZx_0C9zRT0QnI4AXbGOl5EhtC9MAYCNiWYJsPM1cE/s1600/DSCN9023.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>As a result of planning for three weddings, Diane, mother of the bride, and David, father of the bride, are experienced in all aspects of making a wedding happen! With the onset of Pinterest, Diane was really able to get creative with all the wonderful wedding decor ideas. Scott knew right away that Erin was the one. It was not much later that Erin felt the same way. Their romance withstood the typical college bumps and trials and really started to move forward when they relocated to North Carolina to be near Erin's family. Scott proposed at the Raleigh Rose Garden on June 22, 2013 and Erin barely let him finish the question before saying YES! It had been 7 long years. She and her mother and sisters began planning for this wedding and really did an amazing job! As I told David, he and Diane could hire themselves out as wedding planners and decorators!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIvgOFoaEccNsXDzo_pISfeUv_TKXQ9Qu4xe15-sdvdipPHGoXycu-ADh2scATSxOX1z0ht8M5qjNB-s9hdXJKgm3AbSP-m2LwIh3oSBFkgDkRjzl2Mrsut8DVrVKJdP3Ef-7HVrJDTAo/s1600/DSCN9093.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Ashley and Craig's Beautiful Wedding at Rose Hill Plantation!

In January of 2013, Ashley and Craig contacted me about their wedding at <a href="http://visitrosehill.com/landing-weddings-special-events.php" target="_blank">Rose Hill Plantation</a> on May 24, 2014--well over a year ahead. Wise couple to be planning early so they can get their preferred vendors. They loved the idea of collaborating with me to create a unique personalized ceremony so we got to work!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOdrImj6bBq_788PuEdauJHhriK3lQJD1auQ9WA_8UcVBvEnpb-_1UvDK0MoqTi7vtXgufTaAckJu_h-NWRvoRjH_vGY7tQaRvkqeboslUtN5Bo-3QXRBaaJpjg5s4hc497CiPiLIoD_8/s1600/DSCN8657.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOdrImj6bBq_788PuEdauJHhriK3lQJD1auQ9WA_8UcVBvEnpb-_1UvDK0MoqTi7vtXgufTaAckJu_h-NWRvoRjH_vGY7tQaRvkqeboslUtN5Bo-3QXRBaaJpjg5s4hc497CiPiLIoD_8/s1600/DSCN8657.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>The wedding day was glorious. So when it came time to pin the flowers on the groomsmen, she asked me to do the honors. I was happy to do so. In case you don't know how: boutonnieres go on the left lapel. Take the pin and from underneath the lapels, <b>horizontally </b>push the pin through the fabric, through the stem, then back through the lapel hiding the head and the sharp end of the pin underneath the lapel. And, by the way, boutonnieres and those pocket handkerchiefs that come with rentals should not be worn together. One or the other, and the boutonnieres look best.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-4Az3vvNaJc1nWij-WKufgqukxS7YbhFWeCIT7xcHFHF3FxILbwMvTdlJP3Ca2P2VG4UHw2lLKq6N-b0Zp_1sXiMR5z3lgDjjHPGoqanUHHZuu_BhR85pL9sFbzAE2jeDNBxplVZ_rug/s1600/DSCN8666.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-4Az3vvNaJc1nWij-WKufgqukxS7YbhFWeCIT7xcHFHF3FxILbwMvTdlJP3Ca2P2VG4UHw2lLKq6N-b0Zp_1sXiMR5z3lgDjjHPGoqanUHHZuu_BhR85pL9sFbzAE2jeDNBxplVZ_rug/s1600/DSCN8666.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>While I was pinning on the flowers, Marty was at Nathan Hall where the reception would be. <a href="http://www.lennyfritts.com/" target="_blank">Lenny Fritts</a>, our DJ, had set up pretty purple up-lighting around the dance floor to surprise the couple. They met in a bowling alley in Greensboro in 2010 and their lives changed forever. They were instantly attracted to each other and soon were inseparable. Craig proposed on September 23, 2012 so it was a rather long engagement during which Ashley started Physician's Assistant school in Greenville and only two weeks before the wedding, Craig got his degree in Raleigh. So, the wedding was a twofold celebration, their marriage and living together in the same city again!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwCRlhRvRQhSbgafdmoIZuxdk0nep8mFYFLtyUMJtjhNBvAV68r8xOatOwBzyZKTc9FKI_PAdAJcxaHnifrKxcgH8ud3KP1ZYIjgTa0O9_oTqz7TqojrBZvnVl7zq65kyEOGhRfjbDfLU/s1600/DSCN8730.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwCRlhRvRQhSbgafdmoIZuxdk0nep8mFYFLtyUMJtjhNBvAV68r8xOatOwBzyZKTc9FKI_PAdAJcxaHnifrKxcgH8ud3KP1ZYIjgTa0O9_oTqz7TqojrBZvnVl7zq65kyEOGhRfjbDfLU/s1600/DSCN8730.JPG" width="640" /></a></div> After the story and revealing what they love about each other, the battery in my microphone bit the dust.
